What your site and employer should do for you
1.Complete assessments to make sure that you are not exposed to levels of noise or vibration that can cause damage to your health.
2.Develop suitable control measures for managing and limiting your exposure to noise and vibration.
3.Provide you with suitable training so you understand the hazards from noise and vibration and the harm that can be caused to you.
4.Provide suitable hearing protection.
5.Provide supervision to make sure the control measures are being used properly.
6.Arrange for health surveillance where your levels of exposure state this is necessary.
What you should do for your site and employer
1.Make sure you understand the damage that too much noise and vibration can cause you.
2.Wear your hearing protection when needed.
3.Make sure that you wear your hearing protection properly.
4.Look after your hearing protection and get it replaced if it is lost or damaged.
5.When using hand-held vibrating tools do not exceed any safe time limit, if one has been given.
6.Attend health surveillance, when requested by your employer (it’s for your benefit).
